My class today was really interesting. We talked about the Santeria religion and the orichas (gods), watched a video of the oricha dances and we danced too a little. Tomorrow is the excursion day and we are going to the Museo de Chocolate to chat and practice. I need to remember to make a PowerPoint for my final theme this Thursday, however.
The whole group had lunch at Castillo de Jagua today, but Madison, Pepe and I were at a different table than the rest of the group. It was fun but I think that the waitress (the same as yesterday) hates me and Madison or something because she wasn't as nice to us and today she never brought the flan that we had ordered, and Pepe had to ask her again after we'd already asked to pay. So then we had to go to the art museum without any dessert. :(

The excursion today was to the Museum of Fine Arts (Museo de Bellas Artes Cubano) and the museum was wonderful! There are three floors. We began at the highest floor and worked our way down; as we went the art became more modern. The rest of the group (Duane and the girls) finished each section really fast but Pepe, Madison and I were slower, looking at all the paintings and sculptures, reading descriptions, and discussing the art.
I really liked the colonial art, but the art from the Revolution was really interesting, and they also had a large collection of Wilfredo Lam works. Unfortunately, we'd only seen the third floor and half the second floor when we saw that the others were waiting for us and it had been almost two hours. Madison promised me we can go back and Pepe wants to go with us. I also want to go to the 'Universal' Museum of Fine Arts, which is quite close to the Cuban one. I love art museums and I didn't really understand how the other ones had gone through it so fast.
We had decided to go to the pool at the Hotel Capri today, so Pepe, Duane, Madison and I went. We entered the hotel in pairs--first Madison and Duane and then me and Pepe--so we could be less conspicuous. But we didn't have any problems and we didn't have to pay anything this time either. We had drinks and talked a lot.
I was a little late getting home but Lute didn't seem upset. Lute and Ailyn taught Rachel and Lauren to play dominoes. I watched while I ate and then after dinner we played 3 or 4 games together with Lute. Now I need to go to sleep. It's a nice night because I don't need to wake up as early in the morning since class is meeting in Old Havana at 10. :)
